Bob Garfield has never written an ad in his his life let alone a "contender".

Back in the early 90s he had zero credentials when he become an advertising creative "critic". He got the job simply by putting his hand up at Ad Age Magazine, where he was a news journalist.

Similar situation with Barbara Lippert at AdWeek New York.

So will Lux be the next Cannes Grand Prix? I doubt it, but perhaps ask my plumber.

Well it's either this or another Gold for Brand Power.

is this guy fucking serious? Small idea. Average execution. Lucky for Santo I'm not a judge, I wouldn't even put it into the shortlist stage. If this is in the running for the Grand Prix, is it too late for the rest of us to enter every mediocre spot we made this year?

If it was live action instead of technique, it would be the oldest frigging idea ever. Woman has bath feels great. Technique is not an idea- it's not even a great technique. Too easy.

I'd tell you what I think but I CAN'T FUCKING SEE THE SPOT.

Mac and Safari problem again I guess ...

Technique score: If this was done 20 years ago using real neon, then it would score 10/10. This is animated 3/10

Content score: 5/10

Overall score: 4/10

No Lion.

Now I'm just a junior so maybe I don't know much, but if that's all it takes to win at Cannes I'll see you all there next week.

I'm concerned that no one has mentioned that the story is about a cripple girl who everyone shuns and her miraculous tansformation into a totally kidnappable babe. What is wrong with these people? Did the last 50 years of social history pass them by?

erm, no, no it's not.

GP is something special even with Ikea lamp which was a little controversial that year had something special.

I've never actually seen a riot on the Croisette, if this got up as GP it may cause the first.

No, it is not the Grand Prix.

As much as it pains me to say, I'd rather see it go to Coke 'happiness factory'. Seems like everyone is so focused on moving into 'new' territory that film has slipped a little this year. Nothing outstanding.

'GameKillers' campaign directed by Glue Society gets my vote. It will be in for Titanium but could maybe cross over?

Hey Lynchy, Clio finalists are out.

1.16, it's Bob Garfield's opinion, not the blog's, so keep coming back.
