CANNES JURIES ANNOUNCED SOON

Cannes Lions chairman Terry Savage arrived back in Sydney from London on the weekend and is close to announcing the seven jurors allocated to Australia and the three for New Zealand. CB hears the Top three Aussie candidates for the Film Jury are Scott Whybin (Whybin TBWA), James McGrath (George Patts Y&R) and Ted Horton (Dewey Horton), while Jay Furby (The Furnace), Pete Buckley (Saatchi) and one other are vying for the Press Jury spot. Siimon Reynolds (Love) is one of three candidates for the Titanium Jury spot, whie Craig 'Moose' Moore (Clemenger BBDO Sydney) is a candidate for Radio and Andrew Tinning (Marketforce) is nominated for Outdoor.
This year will be more exciting than most as the Cannes Jury President is Australia's Dave Droga -- even though he is more from New York and Hollywood these days.

As long as there's a nice jolly song in the ad, Ted'd be great for TV.

Put one of the Daddo's on the jury; they're involved with everything else to do with the media, so why not Cannes.

Otherwise what about me; and no, I don't mean Shannon Knowle.

Good to see Fairfax being a little more fair in its involvement in Jury selection NOT

It stinks of kickbacks, particularly Siiiimon Reynolds (his agency doing AFR and all)

Shut up you bunch of miserable resentful bed-wetters. All the nominees are people of the most impressive and outstanding creative pedigree, all of them winners of Lions of all denominations, including Siimon with Gold and Grand Prix Lions under his belt among others. Siimon, Ted, Scott, and also Jay, Moose and others are bona-fide australian creative legends. That's the kind of people you want judging your work. This blog seems to be populated by ignoramus 22 year old AWARD School know-it-all bugger-pickers spitting venom. Be ashamed of yourselves. What a bunch of twats.

Didn't your Mommy told you to respect your elders? You all deserve a spanking with a cat o'nine tails.

yep, some of those old guys listed haven't done good work in over a decade.

so either 1) they don't care anymore or 2) they can't do it anymore.

if you sell out fellas, and i can't blame you, then there's a downside... no sunning in france.

I don't think so naive boy.

You wish it was the case, but no. Wake up and smell the marketing page...on 80k a year, junior creatives are getting paid less than mid weight suits.

And we get the equity along the way while you dicks chase awards...losers.
